The world outside is an apocalypse, but the Supernormalities reflect the apocalypse happening within us all. The misfit alien mutations of dissociation, each Supernormality is a doppelgänger of a normal self, born in the netherworld between excruciating boredom and disappointment of 9-5 jobs and the secret desire to break free and boogie to a beat out of step with everyday life. These Supernormalities crawl from the black depths of your worn living room couch, twitching their way to life under piss-colored tungsten lights. They press themselves against living room doors and windows, melting through walls to dance their crooked dance rampantly down tenement alleyways and backstreets.  Convicts from the Prison of Normal, they are a reckoning of everything repressed: hellraising, replicant omnigender escapees fighting to out-groove our never ending tug-of-wars between optimism and despair.

In a time when the places and objects we hold dear are more vulnerable than ever comes Leo Lauren’s new song, “Damage Drop-Off Site.” This funky, alt-pop track imagines the destruction of our material world—our homes, our keepsakes, the things we hold dear—and asks what happens to the memories and meaning tied to them. With a touch of humor and a vivid sense of scale, the song plays with the idea of a personal apocalypse, where everything we treasure is swept away, seen as nothing more than debris by the indifferent eye of the universe. It’s a lively exploration of what remains after the physical traces of our lives are gone.

The music video, directed and edited by Joaquin Barlow, depicts Leo Lauren as 3 different characters – a disaster insurance agent selling door-to-door, a disillusioned working class man, and a domestic housewife (featuring his mother’s wedding dress) in the midst of a breakdown, shattering all the glass in the kitchen.

“Vampire” is a haunted anthem—a perfect mix of fun and fear. On the surface, it’s a dark uptempo track that lulls you into misty, midnight alleyways. But beneath, it’s a story about seduction and the dangers of chasing beauty and power.

“Vampire” speaks to how we fall victim to glamorized illusions, transforming into something else in the process. It’s a song that makes you dance but also makes you think about the monsters in our culture and within ourselves.

Beneath Lovesick’s candy-colored skylines, longing is an illness which makes even stepping out the door a battle with vertigo. This sonic fever dream is the yearning soundtrack to a Love Island with no love in sight, where stranded, lonely strolls down the beaches of Paradise Goth are infected with the haze of far-off sunsets and estranged desires. The song grooves with the beat of a heart pulsing miles away from its owner, obsessed with what’s only out of reach. Since there’s no cure but time, you might as well give in, swoon with your vision, sway with delirious moves, and let it be a dance on through to the other side.
